The Hyundai Coupe/Tiburon and the Honda Accord Coupe are not in the same class of vehicles. The Hyundai Coupe would compete directly with the Toyota Celica or Honda Civic Coupe.
As one poster pointed out the Tiburon is not as powerful in either I4 or V6 versions compared to those same iterations of the Honda Accord Coupe. The Tiburon passenger compartment is stingy on headroom as well. The Accord Coupe is more spacious and though I have not driven it, I would say that it is probably more sporty than the Tiburon. Don't get me wrong the Tiburon is very good considering its price point which is $6000.00 less than the Accord. As I said you are comparing 2 vehicles of different size classes.
I would say get the Accord Coupe but as an alternative I would consider the Nissan 350Z. They are the approximately the same size though the Nissan is more expensive and comes only in a V6. The Nissan's handling would be far superior to that of the Honda. The Nissan is a rear wheel drive car which provides better weight distribution and is more powerful (306hp) than the front wheel drive Accord Coupe. But as I said the Accord is cheaper (you can get an Accord Coupe with Navigation for the same price as a base 350Z) and more importantly is of superior quality.
If you are willing to wait a while the new redesigned Hyundai Tiburon will be released in late 2008 or 2009. The new version will have a turbo I4 making 200+hp and a 3.8L V6 with 300+hp and will be rear wheel drive. To top it off it will have the 5yr/60K mi bumper to bumper and 10yr/100K mi powertrain warranty and will be priced lower than the Nissan 350Z or Honda Accord Coupe. Hyundai's quality and reliability has been consistently climbing so it would be safe to say that the new Tiburon will carry on this new reputation for Hyundai.

I presume you're looking at a coupe for performance and looks? If so, then definitely the Honda Accord Coupe, or even the Honda Civic Coupe or Si.
The Coupe FX (aka Tiburon) is cheap and has poor performance.
You can get a 4 banger with 138 HP or a V6 with 172.
The Accord comes with a 4 pushing 190 HP or a V6 pushing 268 HP.
Aside from that, the Honda will hold it's resale better, handle better, look better, and last longer. The engine alone is enough to make a decision in my book, but those other factors really seal the deal.

I would definitely buy a Honda coupe. I have one now and it is my 4th Honda. I always trade and always stay with Honda. I'm sure there is a big price difference between Honda and Hyundai but no doubt a big difference in the car itself. You should be able to tell in the difference in the ride and just the way it handles. They last forever and have the best resale value. I promise, you won't be sorry.

As much as I like my Hyundai.. if you want to chose, need to chose, buy the one you like the best... but if I liked both and need to chose I'd say go with the Honda.

Test drive both. Both are great cars, but Hyundai's are less expensive.

I would choose probably any other car over the Hyundai except for Kia probably. LOL
The two cars are not even comparable.
